PIR Insulated Roof Panels

Colorspar® PIR Sandwich Roofing Panel

Colorspar® PU Sandwich Roofing Panel is metal insulation sandwich panel for roof. Compared with traditional roofing materials, polyurethane roofing panels has excellent thermal insulation and fireproof performance, with an ODP value of 0, along with an extremely low GWP value. The production process is free of Freon emissions, thus is green and environmentally friendly. What's more, it has the characteristics of high waterproof and compressive strength, making it the best material for the building roofing with high insulation requirements, as well as building roofing in food, electronics and other industries.

  • Wiskind Group PU sandwich roof panels are composite prefabricated panels, consisting of two layers of metal facers and PUR/PIR insulation core between the facers.

Wiskind Group PU sandwich roof panels are versatile cladding products, allowing for use in: Roofs, External Walls and Partitions.

PU sandwich roof panel thicknesses available range from 30 to 100mm, capable of meeting and exceeding local & International building regulation requirements.

Wiskind Group specialized in production, sales and export of Polyurethane (PU) & Polyisocyanurate (PIR) Insulated Sandwich Panel & Rockwool. Sandwich Panels are produced in a continue line with 3 types of insulation materials including such as, Polyurethane (PUR), Polyisocyanurate (PIR) & Rockwool insulation thicknesses. As external and internal surfaces of sandwich panel painted galvanized, galvalume, Alu-zinc, stainless steel, Painted or natural aluminium/Steel materials can be used.

Features of PU sandwich roof panels

The edge-folding process of the female plug ensures a tighter overlap and avoids edge corrosion.

With a peak height of 34mm, the 3-wave peak design enhances roof load and water drainage capacity.

The off-sink structure prevents roof seepage

Advantages

PU sandwich roof panels offer a wide range of performance benefits, making them a preferred choice for modern construction projects:

  • Superior Thermal Insulation:
With a polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam core, these panels deliver excellent thermal insulation, featuring a low thermal conductivity of λ ≤ 0.024 W/m·K.

  • Long-Lasting Weather Resistance:
Designed to endure harsh environmental conditions, PU sandwich panels retain their structural integrity and appearance for many years. When coated appropriately for local climate conditions, they offer exceptional long-term durability.

  • Complete Waterproofing:
Precision-engineered joints provide a fully sealed system against rain, snow, and moisture. When installed according to standards, these joints maintain waterproof performance for many years.

  • Effective Sound Insulation:
The right core material ensures outstanding acoustic performance, significantly reducing external noise, minimizing industrial noise transmission, and improving interior acoustic comfort.

  • Tailored Fire Resistance:
Depending on the selected core type, PU sandwich roof panels can meet various fire resistance requirements—ensuring the safety of escape routes and providing reliable fire compartmentalization.

  • High Load-Bearing Capacity:
These roof panels offer strong mechanical performance, capable of withstanding significant snow and wind loads. Depending on the panel thickness and climate zone, roof panels can span over 3 meters between supports, while wall panels may reach up to 6 meters—translating into structural cost savings.

  • Environmentally Friendly Benefits:
Beyond performance, PU sandwich panels contribute to sustainability. The total energy consumed in producing thermal insulation materials typically offsets itself within two to three years after installation, reducing long-term environmental impact.

Composition and material

The face material is color-coated steel, aluminum foil, glass fiber reinforced plastic, etc. The insulated core is PIR.

A PU sandwich roof panel is a high-performance composite material designed for modern construction needs. It consists of three primary layers:

1. Face Materials: The outer layers, or facings, provide structural strength and protect against environmental factors. Common face materials include:

    • Color-Coated Steel: Offers durability and resistance to corrosion, making it suitable for various climates.

    • Aluminum Foil: Lightweight and corrosion-resistant, ideal for applications requiring reduced weight.

    • Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP): Provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to chemicals and moisture.

2. Insulated Core: The core is made of Polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam, a thermoset plastic known for its superior thermal insulation properties. PIR foam offers:

    • Low thermal conductivity, enhancing energy efficiency.

    • Improved fire resistance compared to standard polyurethane foams.

    • Lightweight characteristics, reducing the overall load on structures.

The combination of these materials results in a PU sandwich roof panel that delivers excellent thermal insulation, structural integrity, and durability, making it an ideal choice for various roofing applications.
